Mary Ward, PhD is a writer and educator living in Spokane, WA with her two young daughters. Her writing is informed by her work as a master’s-level therapist with a PhD in cultural studies. She currently serves as a senior lecturer in the Children’s Studies department at Eastern Washington University and also works directly with youth in a community therapeutic practice. Her writing can be found online at Betches Media where she writes at the intersection of pop culture and feminism, and in various academic publications including the journal Policy Futures in Education. She is at work on her first YA novel that explores some of the themes found in her essay "The Vulnerability of Bodies."
